Hope I have some copies of Trevor’s Kitchen Garden left for the Dublin Book Festival from 13 – 18 November in and around Smock Alley Theatre, Temple Bar in the old book publishing quarter of Dublin. In the run up, I’m happily being asked to give kitchen gardening presentaions and demos here and there. With Christmas presents in mind, some kind lovers of garden lore are buying copies of the book for friends and relations at these events. A very special lady in Clontarf Gardening Club last week bought 5 copies – but that is exceptional, in fairness! Last night at the South County Dublin Horticultural Society, another box of 25 books were bought by the hospitable hosts in Kill o’the Grange Parish Hall. The fact that all the proceeds go to SEED, the Sustainable Earth Education Development charity setting up school gardens around the country, has a big bearing on people’s generosity, no doubt. Last night I was asked to put some more diary dates for Trevor’s Kitchen Garden events up on the blogsite. Here are some which are confirmed:

Thurs, 8 Nov, 8.30pm: Dalkey Ladies’ Club, Our Lady’s Hall, Dalkey Village, Co. Dublin.

Sat, 10 Nov, 12.30pm: Dublin City GIY, Dublin Food Co-op, Newmarket, (near St Patk’s Cath) , Dublin 8.

Sat, 17 Nov, 12pm: Dublin Book Festival panel with Fionnuala Fallon (Irish Times) & Michael Kelly (GIY), Smock Alley Theatre, D2.

Off to Uganda with CEDF, the children’s charity, to set up a school garden there after that, so more news about that anon!
