Mid-June review.

The garden is full of lif right now. It’s fantastic to see how much growth there has been in the last month. The weather has been almost ideal, with lots of bright sunny days and the occassional shower to keep things moist. The video gives a quick tour of the garden and it’s interesting to compare it with the overview taken in May. It’s geting difficult for the camerman to find a place to stand!

    Dear Trevor
What are you growing your tomatos in? I cant exactly see in the video, is it a sort of vertical greenhouse? I would be very interested in something like that because I have a small back garden and grow tomatos outdoors – bit unpredicatable depending on amount of sunshine – dont really want to install a green house because of space problems.
    good wishes

    • Dear Mary,
My two tomato plants are growing in soil fed and watered every day by dilute comfrey tea in two plastic storage boxes which fit neatly on the floorspace of my ‘telephone box style’ lean – to greenhouse. This structure was built to order for me in situ when I was getting my rotten window frames replaced in the house. It is in effect a tiny sun lounge! I screwed brackets against the wall so shelves could be installed to hold seed trays early each year before I need the space for the tomato plants. Any window replacement company would probably jump at the business if you wanted a quote for a similar job. I can’t say the exact cost partly because it is there about 10 years but also the ‘greenhouse’ was part of the overall window replacement job. I hope this is of use. Good luck with the outdoor tomatoes meanwhile. Trevor

Thanks for the advice. WordPress is a handy template but has limitations, but I’ll try taking you ideas on board. Good growing. Trevor
