Potatoes Part 1 – using various containers

Potatoes can be planted in a variety of places. They are one vegetable that almost anyone can grow, even those with no garden. All sorts of containers can be used, even old car tyres!

Later on, in Part 2, we’ll see how the plant can be encouraged to produce more potatoes simply by topping up the soil or “earthing up”. That’s why it’s a good idea to use a container that’s fairly tall. Even a plastic refuse sack can make a good container for growing potatoes.
